Meet HipNotica, the most exotic fitness format on the planet!  If you hate the gym, but love to dance…check this out!

HipNotica is a unique group exercise class that uses Belly Dance music, movements, and easy-to-follow combinations and choreographies to deliver a low-impact and cardiovascular workout that is fun, effective and completely hip-notizing!

Get lost in the contagious ethic beats from around the world while you dance your way to a happier, healthier, more empowered you!  LOOK OUT!…we may even throw in Brazilian Samba or Indian Bollywood for added flavor!

Our HipNotica Instructors are trained professionals, proficient in the art of Belly Dance who uphold and maintain their Primary Group Exercise Certifications with the Aerobics & Fitness Association of America (AFAA) as well as their CPR certifications with the American Heart Association.

When is HipNotica™ offered at Belly Motions?

  • Mondays 5:30-6:15pm
  • Wednesdays 5:30-6:00pm
  • Thursdays 12:15-1:00pm
  • Saturdays 9:00-9:45am NEW CLASS STARTING FEBRUARY 18th!

HipNotica™ Classes are $18.00 each or purchase a 10 Class Card for $150.00 (SAVE $30.00).

But wait!  How is HipNotica™ different from the Belly Motions (BM) 8-week Programs?

Great question!  The answer is simple: HipNotica™ follows a fitness model and focuses on delivering an effective workout. The Belly Motions Programs follow the dance model and focus on step-by-step breakdown and full comprehension of movements.  Both are low-impact and provide an excellent form of exercise, however, HipNotica’s™ sole purpose is to burn calories in a fun, creative way, while our Program classes serve to teach the art of Belly Dance.

In addition, HipNotica™ classes are open and on-going meaning anyone can walk in at any time, while the Belly Motions Programs require registration and are taught in 8-week Programs that follow a syllabus.

Don’t be fooled, the Belly Motions Programs and HipNotica™ help each other!  Why?

Simply put, the better technique you have the more effective your workouts will become.  This same concept applies to Pilates, Yoga or many other mind-body fitness formats.  In the beginning, students tend to have poor posture and often use momentum to produce movements placing strain on the major joints and lower back.  With proper posture and muscular contractions students will continually improve muscular endurance making any workout much more effective (while also preventing injury).  For this reason, HipNotica™ and the Belly Motions Programs complement each other.  The more experience you have with technique learned from the Belly Motions Programs, the more effective your HipNotica™ workouts will become!

  • HipNotica™ classes are 45 minutes long, providing a FAST yet effective workout so you can get back to your busy schedule.
  • HipNotica™ classes are taught barefoot (or with dance shoes) which gives the class an earthy, natural feel.  While sneakers may be worn, they are not necessary.

What will I need to participate in a HipNotica™ class?

  • Exercise / dance attire.
  • A coin belt or hip scarf (optional, but fun!).
  • Capezio Half Sole Sandasols (sold at Belly Motions), barefoot or sneakers.
  • A small towel and a bottle of water.
  • Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to class start time.
