To hire a Dancer, a Service Agreement and a non-refundable deposit payable by credit card will be required. For events within Miami, the Service Contract Agreement may be downloaded from our site. | How much space will be needed for the show or class? |
The more space the better! Our Dancers often perform with large props such as Isis Wings, Veils, the Cane, etc. that require a space at least 20x20'. For classes, the number of participants will determine how much space will be needed. Dancers will make the best of the space allotted, but the more space given, the more enjoyable the experience will be for all. Always keep small children, chairs, broken glass, food, etc. clear of the dance space.

What type of sound system will be sufficient for the best possible show or class?
Our Dancer(s) will personally prepare all the music on CD especially for your event. A CD player capable of playing a burned CD (multiple formats CD player) is required. An iPod may also be used and should be noted on the Service Contract Agreement as the Dancer will need to prepare this equipment in advance.
For small events with less than 30 people in a small indoor space, a home stereo system should be sufficient. For larger events in spaces such as Ballrooms, Banquet Halls, or outdoors, a DJ or professional sound system should be utilized for the best sound quality. The volume should be loud enough for all guests to hear. Volume helps create an atmosphere for a truly theatrical and enjoyable show or class for all!

When will the Dancer arrive?
The Dancer will arrive within 15 minutes of the scheduled performance or class time noted on the Service Contract Agreement. The Dancer will be in full costume if performing and Belly Dance attire if instructing. The Dancer will contact you the day of the event to touch-base. Dancers may have several bookings throughout the day and evening so we ask that the show or class begin within 15 minutes of the scheduled time or additional fees will apply.

The Belly Dancer is a surprise! What should I do when she arrives?
During surprise events the client should arrange to be contacted via cell phone to meet the Dancer outside of the venue. It is recommended that the client have a room or restroom available for the Dancer to remain until the show or class begins. Dancers need to be aware of the dance space before the show or class actually begins. It is also important that you give the Dancer ample time to prepare for her entrance. Make sure guests are cleared out of the way and that the music can be heard loud and clear!

What happens during the 20-25 minute Belly Dance Show?
A 20-25 minute show has two parts:
- Theatrical Performance (10-15 minutes)
- Audience Participation (10 minutes)

The Dancer will enter with Isis Wings or a Veil to a fast, exciting piece of music to capture the attention of the audience. Next, the Dancer will move into a specialty section of the show. Here she may dance with props such as the Sword, Cane or Veil or may perform floor work or other trickery. Third, the Dancer will perform to the traditional drum solo, a fast-paced piece of percussion music. The Dancer will follow the music with accents, pops and locks with her body and hips, a truly invigorating spectacle! Next, audience participation or the interactive section of the show begins. The Dancer will select individuals out of the audience, starting with the Guest or Guests of Honor (i.e., Bride and Groom, Birthday boy or girl) to dance with her and then everyone else will be encouraged to join in the fun! Lastly, the Dancer will end with a finale and will gracefully exit the performance area. Photo opportunities with the Performer are available immediately following the show.

What happens during the One Hour Belly Dance Class?
The One Hour Class has four parts:
- Introduction and Warm-up (15 minutes)
- Instruction (20 minutes)
- Interactive Instruction (10 minutes)
- Cool Down, Questions and Photos (10 minutes)
*Up to 25 Coin Belts provided for use during the duration of the class.

The Dancer will begin the class by energetically introducing herself, announcing the class and giving a brief overview of the class format. At this time she will distribute coin belts for all participants to wear during the duration of the class. She will begin teaching with a warm-up, to prepare the participants for the physical movements to take place. Next, she will introduce basic to advanced movements in a step by step fashion. Movements such as Snake Arms, Shimmies, Hip Drops, Undulations, Figure 8’s, etc. will excite and inspire the group. There are sure to be lots of giggles and smiles! Next, the Interactive Instruction begins! This gives the participants a chance to put it all together and let loose. The group will form a circle and do “free dancing” where the Dancer will guide and encourage participants to use what they learned to express themselves. Special attention is given to the Guest of Honor (the Bride or Mother to be). A cool down will follow presenting basic stretches and breathing techniques to slowly wrap up the class and allow everyone to catch their breath! Questions and photos are welcomed at this time.

What happens during the 30-35 minute Belly Dance Show - Class Combo?
A 30-35 minute Show / Class Combo has two parts:
- Theatrical Performance (10-15 minutes)
- Mini Belly Dance Class (20 minutes)
*Up to 25 Coin Belts provided for use during the duration of the class.

The Show-Class Combo gives your guests a chance to be visually inspired by watching a professional Belly Dancer, and then have the opportunity to get up and learn some Belly Dance movements with her! You and your guests can experience both; a breathtaking performance in a professional Belly Dance costume followed by a “mini” Belly Dance class! We can assure that you and your guests will be absolutely delighted!

What is Audience Participation?
Audience Participation is the interactive section of the show where the Dancer will select individuals out of the audience, starting with the Guest or Guests of Honor (i.e., Bride and Groom, Birthday boy or girl) to dance with her, and then everyone else will be encouraged to join in the fun! This usually takes place in the middle of the performance and is often the highlight of the show. Participants will dance, laugh and experience the excitement of dancing with a Professional Belly Dancer. Seated guests will be thoroughly entertained, and are sure to video and photograph every “Kodak Moment”! All interaction is festive and family-oriented.

How can we encourage or support the Dancer during the show?
Traditionally, clapping and the “Zaghareet” (a trill or sound produced by the mouth) are used to add excitement and energy to the show. The Dancer will often communicate with the audience when she would like to hear clapping. She will also “Zaghareet” to the audience which can be imitated by audience members. Lewd comments or degrading remarks should not be tolerated by the client. Inappropriate body language should also be discouraged as our Performers are professionals.

Does the Dancer accept tips?
Yes, in traditional Arabic culture it is part of the show to give and receive tips. Our Dancers receive tips in two ways: The audience may “Shower” the Dancer by throwing tips during her performance or the audience may hand tips to the Dancer after the show or class. To maintain integrity and professionalism, Dancers do not accept tips in their costumes. After the show the client should collect the tips and hand them to the Dancer before she leaves. This is greatly appreciated! back to top
