Portia Founder of Belly Motions, Inc., Portia has dedicated herself to pursuing a professional career in Belly Dance. She began teaching Belly Dance at the University of Florida where she also spent many years teaching group fitness classes. With her extensive background in exercise and fitness instruction, Portia has developed an exceptional ability to simplify and breakdown movements. Correct posture, increase flexibility and create body awareness in these refreshing sessions that celebrate the feminine body. Portia is the Chief Instuctor here at Belly Motions. She teaches Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Belly Dance classes throughout the week.

Ansuya Belly Dance Superstar Ansuya is one of the most talented and accomplished performers, choreographers, and instructors in the Belly Dance world today. Her style is unique, blending the best aspects of belly dance with Indian, Spanish and African moves. Energenic, sensual and innovative, Ansuya is a master of improvisation, musical interpretation, emotional expression, original moves, and costume design. Xiomara By training, Xiomara is an instructor and professional performer of Mid-Eastern Bellydance. She has studied with industry recognized Master Teachers from all over the world. Her style is a harmonious combination of flamenco and Gypsy dances.
Xiomara's youth, professionalism, and authentic Middle-Eastern dance style continue to capture the attention of many media services, both in Print and on Live TV. Her most recent apprearances were featured on the David Letterman Show (CBS), Univision, Telemundo (NBC), Mega TV and People Magazine. Xiomara was also invited as an interviewed guest in the TV show "Seguro que Yes" in American TV. She also has been featured on various music videos with Salsa singer Tito Nieves and Egytian pop recording artist Tarek Muhanna. Alexandra Alexandra officially began studying Belly Dance in the summer of 2005 with Portia here at Belly Motions. Her experience has taught her how much the art of Middle Eastern dance has to offer. She enjoys working with and learning from people as well as giving back to the community. Alexandra, also an art student, and has a second passion for the Fine Arts. She is currently studying at the Florida International University.
Alexandra is known for her fluid, graceful, and tranquil performances. She is a true natural on stage with a positive and genuine presence that can be felt by every member of her audience. She is a wonderful young woman with many great things to come her way.
Alexandra is the Administrative Assistant at Belly Motions during the weekends and week nights.

Caitlin Caitlin is an energtic, free-sprited and inspiring young woman. Mesmerized by the beauty of Belly Dance as a young girl, she has dedicated her time to learn, grow, and advance in this art form. Her passion has driven her to study with Master instructors of all styles including Rachel Brice, Suhaila Salimpour, Jill Parker, and many more. She was a member of the Dreams Bellydance Company for two years, under the instruction of Nathalie where she had the opportunity to perfrom in two large-scale theatre productions. A studied and soulful dancer, Caitlin finds the most joy in sharing the sisterhood, beauty, femininity, and strength that Belly Dance offers! Caitlin teaches Belly Dance Technique on Saturday's from 2:45-3:45p.m.

Elena Originally from Havana , Cuba , Elena has studied the art of belly dance for several years. She has trained with some of South Florida ’s most prestigious dancers. She is currently a member of the Dreams Bellydance Company, directed by Nathalie, which has been featured in shows such as Dreams Bellydance 2006 and Joharah’s semi-annual Hafla. Elena is currently majoring in Microbiology & Immunology at the University of Miami.
With a beautiful smile and appeal, Elena is truly a fantastic performer. Known for her breath-taking veil work and naturaly ability, Elena wears "Bellydance" for good reason. She is an upcoming artist with great potential.

Hanan Hanan is a powerful and creative instructor with a rich and textured dance vocabulary. She has a classical dance background and has studied ethnic dance all over the world! Hanan focuses on positive mind, body and soul techniques in her teaching, and is known for her authentic presentation of Egyptian Beledi folkloric dance. Luisa Luisa is a dedicated student to the Art of Oriental Dance. She began her studies at Belly Motions in June 2005 under the guidance of Portia. Luisa also studies with some of Miami’s well-renowned Master Instructors. She plans to continue her growth as a dancer and takes pleasure in the act of sharing with her students the self-discovery, respect, awareness, and overall love this art form offers- a lifelong journey that begins and lives in the heart. Luisa completed her Masters in Architecture in 2005 at Florida International University and is currently working towards becoming a licensed Architect.
Luisa teaches Beginner's Level 1 on Wednesday's from 6:30-7:30p.m.

Monica
Known for her positive energy and beautiful smile, we are happy to have Monica as our intern here at Belly Motions. She has been studying belly dance for several years and is inspired by the beauty and creativity of the dance. She is a member of the Dreams Bellydance Company directed by Nathalie and has performed in local shows and events including the Dreams Bellydance 2006 Theatre production at the Julius Littman Theatre. Monica is currently studying Neuroscience at the University of Miami and plans on attending Medical School.

Nathalie Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with a Palestinian background, Nathalie began her exploration of dance at an early age. Her integration of classical dance with modern techniques makes her style so remarkable, soulful and absolutely dynamic. Her reputation has flourished as an accomplished performer, producer, teacher and choreographer. She has been trained by some of the most respected teachers in the Belly Dance world today. Stacy Stacy began her study of Belly Dance several years ago here in South Florida. She found her true passion for Tribal Style Belly Dance while she attended Tribal Fest, a large annual festival in California. Since then she has traveled throughout the United States attening workshops and studying with the most innovative Tribal troupes such as Ultra Gypsy, Urban Tribal, Rachel Brice, Frederique, and the dauther of Tribal Style, Suhaila Salimpour.
Stacy has collaborated with Yasamin Hanna to form Wijdan, a dance duo dedicated to bringing the Tribal Fusion dance style to the East Coast.
Stacy is a major driving force behind bringing the “next generation of Tribal Style” to South Florida. Her precise, smooth, and powerful movements in combination with her unique costume design and deliverance make her an up-coming artist you don’t want to miss! ValarieValarie is the Director of Business Development for Belly Motions, an instructor and a choreographer. She has studied various dance genres, theatre arts production and choreography for over 40 years.
Born in Newport, Rhode Island of mixed French, Egyptian, and English heritage, Valarie began training in Classical Ballet at age 4 with Anneliese Von Ottingen and continued her classical training at the University of Cincinnati’s College Conservatory of Music (CCM), one of the most prestigious American Performing Arts Schools. Valarie also studied Modern Dance with Martha Graham at CCM and later at the Martha Graham School of Modern Dance in NYC. Valarie also studied Jazz, Tap and Lyrical with Frank Hatchet and Shamil Yagudin of the Broadway Dance Theatre, later adding Ballroom, Latin and Disco to the mix.
In 2001 she added Oriental Dance to her repertoire, studying locally and abroad with Mahmoud Reda, Ferida Fahamy, Tamalyn Dallal, Ansuya, Jillina, Sonia, Virginia, Hanan, Aireen, and Samay. Valarie is also the Founder and Managing Director of The DIVA Foundation.

Vanessa Vanessa was drawn to Belly Dance four years ago and has been dedicated to further her dance education since. She is currently a member of the Dreams Bellydance Company, Directed by Nathalie. She finds belly dancing to be an inclusive and spiritually transforming art form and hopes to share this amazing dance with others! Vanessa is known for her warm and sensitive nature and is easily approachable. Vanessa is a believable performer with a big future ahead of her! Vanessa teaches Beginner 1 on Saturday's from 11:00-12:00p.m.
